EASY EDIT UPGRADES JACKSONVILLE FACILITY

.....Look under video production in Jacksonville's Yellow Pages and you'll
find scores of companies offering their services. Easy Edit Video is just one of these companies, but unlike most video production studios in town, it specializes in producing videos for the average consumer instead of large corporations.

.....David Zuckerman, owner and president of the company, said the core of Easy Edit's business is its philosophy that "anybody can shoot video, but not many people can do the editing."

.....Unlike other companies that shoot for their customers, Easy Edit allows people to bring in their own video so they can edit it and turn it into something professional looking.

....."Demand is huge," he said. "Lots of individuals who shoot video need it edited."

.....The company does do some corporate work, said Zuckerman, but most of its work centers on events and presentations. Clients bring in a range of things for Easy Edit to work with, including vacation videos, sports seasons to be turned into highlight videos, and photographs for video montages.

.....Zuckerman said the process is affordable. The company charges a rate of $125 an hour for editing. Simple videos can usually be edited in one session and retrieved the same day, but lengthier or more in-depth projects will take more time to edit.

What to expect...
.....If you're technically savvy or have a friend who is, you can edit the video yourself with programs like Pinnacle or Apple Final Cut.
The process is generally the same if you choose to edit it yourself or take it to a professional. Here's a look at how it works, using Easy Edit's facility as an example.

.....Think about what you want your final project to look like. If you're using a professional service or a friend, call to discuss.

.....A picture's worth 1,000 words, organize everything you want for your video. Put the photos you want in order, pick out music, and watch any video you want and write down what clips you want in a "shot list." If you're planning on having audio, write out a script. Keep in mind that only about 40 photographs or 60 minutes of video can be ingested in an hour, so the more you have the longer the process and editing will take.

.....Let the editing process begin. Photos, video, music and any audio you have are ingested into a computer editing system. An editor will piece the project together using transitions, graphics and animation.

.....Take a look at a "rough cut" of your video and decide if there are any changes to be made. A custom label is printed on top of your new video. You're ready to share your masterpiece with the world.
